Im 14 this year l have not entred a contest yet l hope to when im 15 im now on my second fibreglass shortboard and l wanna know if l keep surfing will l have a chance at winning a few comps into the junior tour and onto the wqs and then to the wct.

Everyone would like to be a pro surfer but only the top 45 surfers in the world will compete in ASP World Tour. If you are dedicated, surf everday and are really good it is possible. Foucus on entering as many local contests as you can. When you start winning you will prorboblye be sponored.

Likely not -- the guys making the tour these days start surfing at 6, pop airs at 8, tackle Pipe at 12 and have five or six years of competitive experience by the time they're 14. Your odds are looong, padwan.

If u want to become a pro surfer u need to make a name for yourself, get sponsors, etc.

The best way to do this is to join the NSSA. It is were all the top surfers started out. It is a surf association for school aged kids & it is world wide. In addition, do any local surf competitions. They more contests u win the better chance of getting ur name out there. If that does not work start a portfolio. Have someone take pictures of ur surfing, list the competitions u have won, etc. & send them to surf companies that u want to sponsor you.
