So my dog who is around 15~ years old, she is got skin cancer, and l do not think she has much time left (doc says 1-2 months).

I've never taken her surfing, but now think that l should.

My parents are against it because they think she can not do it, but l would bring her out on a very small day (think ankle - knee high), with nobody else out, and be very cautious with her.

l know it is a bit silly, but l think it would do her good to get that magical thing we call stoke - instead of living a boring and lethargic life sitting at our home doing nothing all day until her life is sadly over.

l do not see the resistance my parents have to it, she is going to die. Should l let her die without this experience under her belt?
She is not super sick, like she still has tons of energy when l take her on walks and stuff.

l think it would be kinda cool. l have seen those tv shows where the guy puts his dog on the nose of the longboard and l always wanted to do that with my dog. l dont see why you dont do it if you think you should. l would. the only concern l see is if your dog is super sick, she could drown but thats all.

Yes, it would be much better for your dog to drown than die in its sleep from skin cancer. I've heard drowning is actually a very euphoric death.

That would be such a fun experience. You should totally take her.
There are dog life vests that you can get and l think that would be safer because she is so old and weak.

But definitely try! l was actually thinking about taking my dog out with me because she will comes with me down to the beach and she loves the water.

ok l would'nt concider it because if your dog has skin cancer idk if the salt water would have any affect on the dog also do something else fun with it l dont know if it would really enjoy it like a person would but l do think its kinda cool and if your absolutly going to do it then deff. make sure its a LOW day and your dog has a LIFE JACKET on!

l wish l would have done that before my dog passed.. Try paddling around in a bay or somewhere before getting the waves. Also get a dog lifejacket.

If ur dog is a 'water dog' & enjoys playing in the surf, it is a great idea. If ur dog is skittish around water (be it a pond or the Pacific) forget it. Do not do anything that is going to make ur old pal stressed or frightened.

l have had dogs that loved the water as much or more than me, & others that just shivered in terror when l tried to carry them into a backyard pool. Do not do something that would be neat or fun for you, if it is not neat & fun for a loyal, long time friend.

l think it would be awesome especially if she doesnt have much time!
