A poor, or pro surfer? If you're poor, try a garage sale, or craigslist for a used board. If you're a pro, you know more about boards than me. Pros get their boards custom made for free from sponsors.

but to answer you question, since you like big waves you should get a custom shaped gun. l prefer the squash tail but you might like the swallow or bat tail. it will help a lot. if you know what you are doing

i really dont want to judge you or anything but do you know a lot about surfing at all, not to mention big wave surfing?

If you are a pro, big wave rider, you got this Jersey guy beat. l am just an old crustacean who surfs up and down the east coast. l got into to some overhead stuff last week, but l am no pro, big wave rider.

But, if l was, l would go to a good local surf shop, where they would give me free boards, that suited my size, skill level and local break.
