If your 1.55cm tall I'd suggest learning on a cork.

Hi Bel
Are you a beginner or a novice and how heavy are you? For a beginner it is better to start on a larger more buoyant board. Someone your height and average weight (50 to 60kgs) should start on a small minimal. Check out this site it will answer some of your questions. newsurfproject.com

id say a 3.25 cm long piece of styrofoam shaped like a board and that might work.

If you're 1.55 cm tall l would suggest using a Lee Press On nail. Should be about the right size for a good short board. You could use nails for different fingers to fill out your quiver. A pinky could be a high performance chip, a ring finger a step up, middle finger would be a semi-gun and you could use the thumb as a disc or biscuit.

its smart to go with a larger board, but for the best board, go to a sufr shop and the guys there will get you the right size board for you

Once you figure out how tall you really are, go to a surf shop. The folks there can help you pick the right board for your size, skill level and the local wave conditions. Your weight and how buoyant your surfboard is are significant factors. Your height is fairly irrelevant. However, at 1.55 cm, it wo not take much surf for you to find 'overhead' conditions.
