The Gulf does not really get the waves of California or Hawaii etc.

South Padre Island can have some good days that time of year if the weather cooperates. If we get a pretty good norther Boca Chica has some decent waves that wrap around the jetties but youll be surfing in cold air 55 degrees and youll have 25 to 30 knot winds.

Bob Hall Pier is probably the most famous of Texas surf spots. That time of year the surf would all be driven by local weather conditions so good luck.

While l was stationed on the Gulf of Mexico l improved my sailing and drinking skills. Even for an east coaster, there is just not much in the way of surf there.
