the first time l went surfing was this past Friday. l used my friends extra longboard. it was really fun, we went out at 7 and we were there till 1130. l wanna get my own board and for some reason am attracted to wooden ones. if they get dinged or damaged are they harder to get fixed?do you guys know anyone who makes custom balsa boards in socal. l do not want some fat company or plans to make it myself. l want a person or small group of people who work on and make Wooden Balsa Longboards.

well my friends only go at night so there is only us in the water. the only other people there are a couple of crack heads so hitting people is not really a problem. as for falling my fat should absorb most of the pain. if they get damaged are they more expensive to fix? thanks for answering.

l personally would not buy a wood board as your first. If you fall on the board you will get hurt. They are also more dangerous if you run someone over. Buy a fiberglass board first than when you get super good buy a beautiful wood board.
