Do you treat your wetsuit with the content it so certainly does not deserve? How often do you wash your wetsuit after a surf? How do you wash it? Do you wee in your wetsuit?
Right you are my man. Everybody wants a house with central heating, but there is always a price to pay!

Looking after your wetsuit is something really up to you !

You can wash if u want to but it will now last too much longer than if you did !

but l usually give mine a rinse off before l go surfing or have a shower with it on (dont use soap on it just good old water)! or give it spraydown with the hose before you go or when you get back!

As for having a wizzz in the suit ! It has to be done ! So just do it !

Rinse it out after every time you surf. Salt water will wreck everything. Also by a ''shoulder saver hanger'' which stops the suit for having the shoulders get stretched out.

l never use soap on my suits; the water in Florida is pretty clean. l rinse it after each session. When l get home, l put it in the bath tub & fill the tub to cover the suit. l move the suit around, then turn it inside out & let it soak for a minute. When l take it out of the tub, l hang it on a large plastic hangar inside the shower stall. l have three suits & have never 'weed' in any of them. Two r sealed welded seamed, which means the 'wee' would stay in the suit the entire time l was in the water.

just rinse throughly with water. l used to work in a surf shop and right before the new suits came out there used to be ''clinics'' we went to (mostly by ripcurl). even they say rinse with water. but do it every time you surf. hang dry--not in the sun.

as for pissing in my suit---sure.

l rarely wash out my wetsuit with fresh water, eventhough l know l should. l usally drive to the beach, & when it is time to go, the wet suit gets laid out to dry in the back of my Suburban. If l am staying near the beach, l may rinse in the motel shower when l get back there, & hang it out to dry. If l am taking the two hour drive home, it just gets folded & put back in my bag. The only time l consistently wash it out is the few times a year when l stay in a beach front house, & l use the outside shower, or if l surf at a beach that has a public freshwater shower head. None of my wetsuits r really new, & they have held up, inspite of my poor treatment. And. of course l pee in it. What do u want me to do, paddle in & find a public toilet?

for the first 6 months l do not pee in my suit & rinse it asap & hang it on my fence in the shade. On rare occasions, l might take it into the shower with me.

To avoid peeing in my suit, l always pee after I've pulled the suit up to my waist before l pull it up.

After six months, the suit does not feel new anymore, sometimes l will leave it in a bucket of water overnight & hang it in the morning. l try not to pee in it but l will if l really have to go.

After one year, l pee in it whenever l feel like it. The suit is starting to wear thin (due to stretching, saltwater, sun & pee) & smells like the monkey cage at the zoo from all of my thick urine. ( l take multivitamins) l still rinse it after every use & NEVER hang it in the sun, always in the shade. Sunburn is the fastest way to ruin a suit.

A good wetsuit lasts one to two years. But l just buy two suits every two to four years so l always have a dry one if l surf an evening & the next morning. l pay a lot of money for a good suit, but l do not pretend that cleaning it is going to make it last forever. It will last two years maximum.

l always try to rinse my suit out with fresh water, either with the hose or just get in the shower with it on.

As for peeing in it, here is a Haiku l wrote:

Pee in my wetsuit

l find that peeing in my wetsuit can add probably another 15 - 20 minutes of in the water time when it is freezing out.

l dont use soap what l do is ill either take it off in the shower or l will always hose it with fresh water and fully wash it. then you want to hang it on a hanger somewhere out side where it will not get rained on. that will prevent that sweat smell.
And hell yes taken a piss is the best thing ever in the winter lol
