All Bics r mass produced, machine made boards. They r manufactured the same way that sailboards (for windsurfing) r manufactured.

They r junk boards & r the paradigm of the term 'popout'. However, of all of the junk popout boards, they have some better designs. Unfortunately, because of the materials & processes used, they do not ride anything like one might expect based on shape & size.

Although they r fairly popular in Europe, they only good for two things: a) cheap, durable boards for beginners & b) durable rental boards.

To specifically answer ur question, it is built cheaply (although very sturdy, u could run a truck over it), & mass produced from materials that have completely different characteristics from REAL surfboards. It is not any better or worse than the Bic 6'7'' because they r both junk that will eventually delaminate & be consigned to the junk pile.

But, if u run a shop, & and need an inexpensive board to buy in bulk, to rent, & get the longest possible service life, it is exactly what u r looking for.
