l would suggest girls 17 and under. The competition will be more likely in your age/skill level. Women is Longboard may have some wahinis with lots of years in the water, and be an unfair match up for you.

You probably would not be able to compete if you entered long board. There is a minimum length of either 9 feet or 3 feet longer than you are tall, at least if you go by the official rulebook.

girls 17 and under

longboard comps usually require a length of 9' or longer

If you enjoy the contest and are serious about competing, you will need a shorter board, smaller than 5'10'' for your age and size. l suggest you look at what Carrissa Moore is riding.

girls, if l were competing this year that is what l would do.

Girls definitely. l am not questioning your surfing level and capabilities by no means, but there will be some older girls/women in the womens longboard competition on a higher skill level than you. The girls competition will have girls in their more on your level and the same age. Besides, you'd need a longer board if you wanted to compete in the longboard competition ;p
