l was wondering if the rear fin (GLASSED ON!) on my 5'10 Boysen shortboard could be fixed by using some sun cure, The fin is not broken off, the base just seems to be chipped a little and now I am trtying to get it fixed without spending 60 bucks!Has anyone done this before or does anyone know if this will work?l just need it to be able to withstand some aerials (still learning them), cutbacks, floaters, barrels (the barrels in Fl are alot stronger on the pull up), also l do some small tricks on the break of the wave when l get pulled back, do you think that my rear fin will be able to hold in place with those tricks if l do the fix?By the way, the fin only moves about 3 degrees or so each way when l kinda push on it.Thanks for the help

Nay, nay! Sun cure is cool for little ding repairs, but u have ur work cut out for u for a do it yourself job. If the fin moves, or there r cracks around the fin, grind out the old glass, & give yourself a clean work surface. You need fin rope & resin. Align ur fin & tape it (Like a tent) & then resin in the fin rope. You will need multiple coats of resin, with sanding in between. The links r more articulate than l am, so check 'em out. l have seen repaired fins last for years on some boards, but l would not want u to me ask me to guarantee it.

l hate to tell you, but ur fin has been 'tweaked' a few too many times, & u r probably taking water, & in big danger of delaminating. Want to save up for a new board?
