l have really bad eyesight and l wear contacts.I am going to learn how to surf this summer and l just wanted to know if l should wear goggles or just go out with onlt my contact lenses?

even just wearing glasses/ sunglasses will protect you from getting splashed. You're probably going to fall in alot though, so goggles might be an option.

You can buy goggles that have prescription lenses in them!! Yes you can!

l surf with my contacts in. Lost one in the last 2 years. Just go out with your contacts, as long as they are cheap disposables. You will end up looking like a raccoon from all the sun exposure if you wear goggles. Oh, and try not to rub your eyes.

dont bother wearing goggles, odds are they will just get filled with water, ripped off, or pushed back into your eye sockets. your gonna fall alot when learning to surf, its just part of the sport and most goggles wont stand up to the way you get tumbled around while surfing. if you can see without your contacts then go out without them as long as its not going to endanger you or anyone around you.

While taking lessons, just enjoy yourself and listen to your instructor and squint a little. there is really not that much that you have to see, especially at your stage of the game. You surely are 'reading the waves' yet. Give it a try, and have fun. If you find your vision is really that bad that you just can not surf, ask us again, and we will work it that later.

Yah. l surf and l guess goggles would work, but if you wipe out hard(especially b/c u just started) that would hurt. l think it would be much easier w/ out goggles, but I've never tried it (:
