has anyone surfer the east coast lately (jersey) how is it out there and l do not knowif l should buy wet suit boots or the temp not extremely cold?

well l live in jersey ad l go to wildwood crest every year,. good for surfing.. in august mostly.. its not that great at the moment..

l would not bother getting boots right now, the waves r not going to get a whole lot better until Aug/Oct/Nov. If you're going to get boots, get them for the winter b/c they're probably going to be on sale.

l still use boots now, a 3/2 split toe. From Nov. to Feb., l usually use a 7mm round toe or 5mm round toe. Split toes r nice, but when its really cold, ur big toe will pretty much freeze off. Mid-Feb you're okay with a 5/4 split toe or 3/2 if you're not out for too long.

If u have to get one pair, go with a 5/4 split toe. l use the Oneill Superfreak booties, run u about 60-70 bucks. At this time, you're generally okay without gloves. However, if its really windy, thats going to make it feel a whole lot colder, so keep that in mind.

l have been surfing ocean city maryland all day, and l was just out again today, and the water was around 56-57. l was in a 5mm fullsuit and was fine. once memorial day comes, you dont really need boots, gloves, and a hoodie, but from about thanksgiving to early-mid may, its a good idea to have them. its extremely flat, about knee high occosionaly, but its gonna pick up tuesday into wednesday.

in the summer it wont b cold sooo u can goo then..
it shud b hot and jus ask arund for a near by beach
