hi, l have been surfing a 6`6 - 6`7 board for about 5 years now and am kinda bored with it. l am looking to buy somthing smaller and more manuverable allowing me to carve more. however l am not exactly sure what size board would be best for me, im 6`0ft tall and 175pds l do most of my surfing in new jersey and have been looking at boards in the 5`11 - 6`2range, one of them being a Lost roundnose fish, if anyone could help me by suggesting what size would be the best for me l would greatly appreciate it. thanx.

The Lost Roundnose Fish is a great board. My brother and l both have one and we're really happy with it.

go with a quad, they r usually really fast boards. u could probably get away with a 6'0'' since they r usually wider boards. the fin placement helps make the boards really maneuverable since they r usually a little further up on the board. this places the fins directly below ur back foot really allowing u to get the best turning ability out of a board while still having drive & not stalling out. l know stretch makes a very popular quad, especially for the jersey area. l ride a WRV battail quad which is awesome. l have a 5'10 but my friends 6'2 still turned much better than my 6'2 wrv chronic which is still an awesome board.

l do not know how well u surf, so that is a tough call. When do u surf? Is it all summer time stuff, or do u out for late autumn & winter big waves? (yes, New Jersey has big waves). Your skill level makes a big difference. Go to a real surf shop (not a bathing suit & skateboard store that sells surfboards) & talk to the folks there. In a real surf shop, there r some guys (and girls) who have been surfing ur local break long enough to match u up with the right board. If u have the money, l would recommend getting a custom made board. l have only had two of them, but they both made me real happy. If u r the NJ area now, this is a good time to get ur act together & rap with the store folks & get hooked up with a shaper & have ur board ready by the time the H20 hits fifty degrees.

Try a 6,1 al merrick flyer. its thick like a fish and just as fast.

a good idea would be to go to a local surf shop & talk to the people there. more than likely they would be better able to answer ur questions. however, if you're going to buy a fish u could go even shorter than ur height because by design fish boards r wider & a little thicker. so, if you're 6' u could probably ride a 5'5'' or so fish if u wanted to go in that direction.
the other thing u could do would be to buy another shortboard, just something smaller than what you're currently riding. talk to a shaper & see what they recommend based on ur abilities & conditions u will be riding in. i'd say 6'1''-6'3'' would be a good place to start.
