im moving to brighton from SA in April. any decent waves in this area? l know about cornwall spots and croyd.

Only in times like this, which is storm weather. You're better off catching waves in Cornwall, they have all the decent ones & the ocean is slightly warmer there too. Brighton has a stone shoreline, not sandy beach, & is now pretty much known as the place to go for the Gay scene (clubs, shops etc). The only time it becomes a beach is in high summer, when thousands of people flock to it & take up all the space. l used to live about an hour from there when l was a child & although we had great fun picking up the fossils from the stones on the beach, we would not go there for sunbathing or a beachside front - we used to visit Cornwall for that :)
