Many wo not admit it..but surfing is war!! ¨One or the other dude!! Do not worry, it is worth it. The athletic body you will gain from surfing...no other sportsman will get it. It is yours!!

you're probably laying you're nipples on the board when you paddle or catching a wave you can either not wax the area you put your chest on because when sand gets into the wax it does hurt
or you can arch your back where your lower abdomen is the only part contacting the deck to avoid your nipples contacting the board
make sense?

Dont worry.my nipples have bled back in the day from the same thing you are suffering from. You will get over it. Remember: chest up off of your board when you are paddling, use only your arms not your whole body when paddling.this should help.

Your body usually toughens up after you go out a few times, but wearing a rash guard is smart if you want to avoid chapped nips and skin cancer.
Are you out to surf or get a tan?

Two best things, IMO, either get through it and the skin will toughen up, then no more problems or get a rashguard which will also protect that skin on you stomach from getting as chewed up.

Save your tanning time for the beach, not the surf!
Get yourself a rash guard - your nipples, (and your skin), will thank you. well, they could if they could talk!
Here are some places l shop: http://beachtrading.com/rash-guards.html http://buy-rash-guards.com
Good luck. :-)

mate, get yourself a rash vest. in Australia they r called rashies. its a type of tight fit spandex shirt. it stops rashes from boards & wetsuits.
some bodyboards & surfboards have a deck surface that can really tear at ur skin on ur chest & elbows. l find a long sleeve rash vest is best for these boards.
also if using surf wax on a surfboard, try not to get sand in the wax, that is just like sandpaper & hurts so much for days.
good luck

Dude, screw your f-ing tan. Tan later. Surf now. if you live where the water is cold, you will be wearing a wetsuit. If you still get rashes, apply some Vaseline to the effected area(s). If you live where the water is warm, invest in a long sleeved wetsuit top. No more rash, and your little ''tanning'' issue is solved. Good luck.

you can arch your back and pick your head up. that will help a little but the rash on the nipples and on the stomach is part of surfing, that is why they have rash guards.

l know of two ways to solve the problem. If you wear a wetsuit, there will be no tan line. Also, wetsuits keep you warm. Second, wear a full body suit. Those will also keep you from getting a rash.
