it all depends where you live,but the sea is always a good place to start..mainly west coast or cornwall

If you are in the UK, Newquay in Cornwall. Famous for surfing.

North Cornwall & the surrounding areas r good places to surf! trust me l live in Cornwall! although l do not surf, the beaches around here get packed with surfers. l would try Polzeath (near Wadebridge in North Cornwall) They have loads of surf schools u can hire wetsuits, surfboards & obviously teach u to surf e.t.c! Maybe u could look on the surfs up boardriders website they r the most popular well known surf school in Polzeath & Polzeath usually has a great surf!

l would not recommend going to Newquay it gets too busy & the beaches r not so nice because sometimes there r needles & glass e.t.c but Polzeath is usually really clean!

Hawaii or Australia.

it really depends if u want huge waves
try Hawaii, South Africa, or Australia. but if ur just learning how to surf I'd suggest California there is a lot of locals & theres also a lot of schools around there so if u want to get serious u do not have a hard time finding it. Surfing is an amazing sport & here r some more locations u can surf at:

if u want hu-uge waves and u have the dough go to hawaii but if not, the beach is always good.

but if u live in fl maybe go to a disney water park they have 2 places that make fake waves and there totally arent any sharks

try a spot where the waves are a bit smaller and there are not a lot of other people/surfers you might run into. if you mean location wise, here in santa cruz, california there are some of the best surf breaks in the world

nice clam surf spot like doho, or rivi is or down State park, but you might want to try churches or old mans too.

well l dont even know what state u r in or if u r in Europe
i can still make suggestions on reqquirements that the location of ur surf lesson sould meet:
uuummm...
*you should learn ur pop up out of the water not in
*on ur first day white water will most likly be the only thing u can catch & keep the use
*stay away from the locals & experienced surfers because they will get mad if u take then ruin the perfect wave
*your place should have 2-4 foot waves & a lot of white waters
*try to head twoard a sandbar (they mave have crabs but r worth it when u have no idea how to get over a monster wave & then u can duck under)
*research the tides in ur area & find out which one is the best for you
*stay inside the flags if u r on a beach with lifegaurds
Hope l helped! l love surfing & if ur area dosnt have lessons, next time ur family goes on vacation try to convince them some place tropical if its tropical it should have a surf school where u can rents boards for a day or week & have a good 1-4 hour lesson

hawaii during the summer, because during the winter ''jaws waves'' come in and you wont be able to learn but during the summer the waves are perfect if your just starting! good surfing school in maui, thats where l learned !

Nowhere in san clemente thats for sure. Go to newport or oceanside, but dont come here. There is already too many kooks here.
