l am going to go ahead & say Kitty Hawk,NC,it is calm,good waves,not too much people in ur way,and good waves every morning from about 6:30AM to 9:30 PM,the best place to stay is in a beach house,heck maybe u will see my families beach house,if u want to go a bit cheaper,stay in a hotel.If u do go stop by one of the places u will eat the BEST hamburgers & fries in ur life called Five Guys.There is a lot of surf & skae shops there,a lot of pro surfers secretely go surf there also.

On any given day, there can be good rideable waves on either the east or west coast of the US. Sorry guys, but it just has to be a hurricane to get anything going in the Gulf. l have researched this for forty years, & even at the most regular breaks, u can show up to find a mill pond, & surfers telling you, ''You shoulda been here yesterday.''
How well do u surf? Southern California has some really great spots that accommodate different skill levels. l know one really great east coast place, but, no offense, l am not telling you, it is already crowded enough.

l personally have the most fun surfing in California and in Florida but l have friends that surf in the Gulf of Mexico and say that it has good waves. l perfer California though

There are some excellent spots off New Zealand , and the exchange rate is very good for travellers .

l love Santa Cruz it has medium to huge waves , get a wetsuit though it is kinda cold but with a wetsuit then you will be warm and fine!!Good Luck!!
