Last year l learnt to surf in newquay, cornwall. l learnt on a 7ft foamy. l found surfing quite easy and l can easily catch waves pop up to my feet and stay there, l can turn either way and l am good at paddling. basically l dont really know what to do next, ive been told that once im comfortable on a foamy l should use a different board so l can get better and do different things. l dont really know what to do next, should l move onto a different type of board? what do l need to learn how to do next? will any different types of boards be different to surf on? also l am 5 foot 8 and 11 stone if this helps. any advice would be welcome

Well, u can change to a shorterboard, which is definitely more challenging ( l would suggest a 6''3 or so), if u r looking for a challenge.

Another thing that would be good, is to change ur scenery a bit. Try surfing in other areas . . . places with bigger, more charging waves.

Also, u can try going out farther . . . but not too far . . . because u do not want to get sucked out! Remember to always surf with someone

Surf in seasons when the waves r known to be larger. l do not know quite when that would be for you, because l do not live in England.
