im gonna start surfing soon.in a bout a month.but l dont know if l should get a decent surfboard or a soft surfboard.people l shoud just get a decent board.but help me.if l did get a decent board how much would it be>?And if l got a soft surfboard how much would it be??PLEASE HELP MEEEEEEE

Buy a longboard. Much easier to learn on, and more stable.
EDIT: How much? l suggest you buy one secondhand. You should be able to get an okish older board with 100 bucks US.

Well if u r going to surf--you must be near an ocean--that means hundreds of surfers r around--that means there is a surf shop or two around--that means go to the surf shop & get their professional advice on what to start with. OR go to the beach & watch for a while---look for a kid ur size---then talk to him about what he uses & maybe he has an old board for u to try out. Put ur trunks on & start hanging with the crowd--smile--be friendly---watch what they r doing---ask questions. l live in New Jersey & still surf at 60--on my old HOBIE----It is a lifetime of fun--so take ur time & get into this sport slowly--learn what u can---learn to read the sets & the swells.most of all---enjoy the water & the sun. Hang loose!!!

You're going to start surfing--as in you never have before? then do not buy a board yet, make sure you like it first, borrow one or rent one a couple of times and then l would suggest buying an inexpensive long board from a pawn shop or craigslist or something, when you really get into it and advance then go ahead and get yourself a new board.

Hard boards r dangerous. Soft boards, like doyles & Softtops (surftechs) r more stable & safer. Try Going on Craigslist online & find something that suits ur body size & height. For example if u r 6 feet tall & weigh 200 pounds then dont choose the 5 foot surfboard to learn on. choose the 11 foot longboard. this is just an example.
If u r between the height of 5 feet & six feet then l suggest getting a surftech surfboard about 8 to 9 feet in length, the boards range from 200 too 400 new.
