How many surfers could do aerials

well it all depends, almost all well known surfers can do aerials, or anyone that is very good and knows how. Anyone can do them with enough practice.

now these days its pretty much a standard to do one if your pro..but there are plenty of ametures just punting airs for fun (and doing them quite good)

I've started training my aerials but as for pros is it is commonplace as for soul as for amatuers, l know guys who are getting about 6 feet of air on 5 foot waves and that is just incredible. I've almost got an aerial down. l dont do many aerial things though, even if l had the capabilities. l like agressive surfing more. If you wanted an amatuers percentage I'd say maybe 2% in reality and for pros about 98%
