im 17 and 5 4... l wanna start this summer... which surf board is best?

Hmmm . . . ok, do u want to know where the best place to surf is or what board is best? l am going to assume both. First of all, there really is not a ''best'' place to surf in the USA. Of course there r places that r better than others which include, but r not limited to, California, Oregon, Florida, South Carolina, New Jersey, New York, etc. Basically any state that is on the coast . . . or even the gulf . . . is a surfable area! If u want a wide variety l recommend California. California has ranging coastlines from 50+ foot waves to little 3 foot waves. As for what kind of surfboard should u use, l recommend a soft, long board (longer than 8 feet).

go for a longboard to start out. hgeta a cheap used one from a pawn shop. Leanr in Cocoa beach. The waves arent that buig and shoud help you start out :). Once you get good enough get a short board .. about 6 foot 1 and you should have a blast w/ that

any place to go surf and your just starting so your not gonna go looking for a place like the mavericks haha. look for small waves, its still a lot of fun. then move up the size as you go.

go to cali,
start with a long board 9' + it is really easy in some aread and nearly impossible in others, so go to southern cali.

Since you're just learning ANY beach with some sort of waves will be good. Once u learn how to catch waves, stand up & turn, then u will be more concerned about the shape, size, etc, of the waves.

Follow other is advice & get a longboard, (at least 9'). They're the easiest to learn on. Borrow one or get a used one cause u will probably bang it up.
