l took surfing lessons last year while l was in Oahu... l was so stoked to finally get up on a wave that was only a few inches high haha! l am absolutely hooked, and can not wait to go back and try it again. However, I am wondering if l was doing something wrong because l had sand literally underneath the skin on the tops of my toes. It was quite painful scrubbing it all out. Do long time surfers have calluses to prevent this from happening? Or am l just a crazy haole? Thanks!
I am from Cincinnati, OH. The only thing close to the ocean is the muddy Ohio River... but l have my own board haha! I am always running around barefoot at home, and nothing but the flip flops in the summer... guess that is still not enough! Oh well! Any suggestions on how to toughen them up besides going barefoot?

lol sorry but l have to say it sistah ! you got some haole feet. see we use to walking bare foot or wearn slippahs every where we go. slippaha with tux, dress, whatevas.toughen them up! where you from?

Edit: nope! lol l walk on lava rock barefoot, l was born and raised on da Big I, so my feet are pretty gnarly lookin lol
