It sounds to me like u r buying a board based on its appearance, not its surfing characteristics. That is all wrong! There r several manufacturers of ''popouts'' who make wooden looking boards. But they r still popouts! There r also so great shapers who build high quality wood boards. The difference is astronomical. Re-think ur intentions in buying that type of board. Then go to a good local surf shop. The folks who work in the industry can hook u up with almost anything u can imagine. Think :surf shop'' not ''on-line'' & u will almost always get what is right for you.

There are plenty of backyard and small scale shapers that make boards that use wooden veneers or ''skins''. These boards are known as comp-sands, or composite sandwiches. It is the same type technology that Surftech uses but it is made by an actual shaper. Go on swaylocks.com under the general discussion section and look for a shaper in your area. There are guys on there that build actual wooden boards too but unless your rolling in money it is probably not what you want.
