Paddle Hard and be very selective with your wave choice.

Make sure you go with someone incase the conditions get to be too much.

l have surfed lots and lots of messy days, and had great fun, but the only way to do that right is to increase your overall skill level. This is something that you need to pick up in the water, from lots of practice, with some advice from your pals who are out surfing in these messy conditions with you. If l could teach somebody how to surf over the computer, i'd be a zillionaire.

learn to surf well, and it wont be that hard when the surf is messy. just like if you learn to ride a bike well, then you wont have that hard of a time trying to ride the bike on a bumpy road. basically the same thing, but the surfing is a little harder. just surf well and when the messy conditions come up, you will be prepared and be able to surf them. you can also just spend time surfing in some messy conditions so you get used to it.
