Me and my friends are thinking of going to Newquay for a week or 2 in June to mark the end of our exams...last time together really before uni..blahblahblah...
Anyway, l was just wondering which of the beaches in Newquay is best for surfing. We're not pro-surfers, but not beginners.

Also, are there any surfing championships there in June/July?

i'm guessing it would be best to do it in the water. Dryland surfing can damage your boards!!

Fistral beach is always reckoned to provide the best surfing though you will find surfing on most of Newquay is beaches. There is plenty of inexpensive surf accommodation in Newquay and a good choice of places to hire boards and wetsuits. To help get you off to a successful start, you might like to check out the surf schools - well worth it before you relax too much into the party scene and surfing starts to take a back seat. Have fun. It is a great place.
