Skimboarding is pretty fun but it gets really boring really fast! Surfing in my opinion is like woaahhh. So l do not mate you might enjoy it, but surfing is better. By far.

NO. Just lay out and wait for waves. l have seen more injuries from skimboarding than from any other watersport..and it is not even that much fun. If you want a similar alternative to surfing, buy a longboard skateboard. Many brands recreate the feel of surfing by the make of the skateboard.

No.Its for when the waves are tiny to flat. Yes if you surf you can skimboard also. You want to have something to do on those malia[flat] days.

Isurf, l skimboard. Skimboarding is NOT for when it is flat, skimboarding is NOT boring, in fact, I've been able to translate some of my surf moves to skimboarding. l get a feel that some of these posts r from those who do not have the right beach wave to skimboard on. Find a beach near u that has waves of a decent caliber that reach shore. l done some pretty insane moves coming off the lip of some shore breaks that where a solid 3-5ft high. If u have no such shore break around you, then come out here to Sandy is (Oahu) or to the beach at Waimea Bay. Keep in mind though, that the more critical the shore break, the more fun, & the more dangerous. At one point Hawaii had the highest cervical (neck) injuries in the world because of people body boarding the shore breaks & getting slammed on the the ground.
