question will make me sound like a kook but l never needed a wetsuit before since l only surfed during the summer. l decided to surf into Nov. this year so l now need one. l was going to shop for one but a week or 2 ago when l got home l complained about how cold the water was. My mom hearing me decided to order me one as a surprise. It is a high end suit but it fits tightly everywhere except for in the armpits. l drew a picture to illustrate how it fits. Is that normal for the armpit area?(example B) or should it fit like example A when l have my arms straight out. It is MT I am 6'0'' 165lbs. l read someone saying the same size/model suit is kinda tight on him, only difference is he is 170 (both of us are in the size range)Like should the armpit be as tight as the elbow joint is if you bent your arm? l guess you can call this space the cup area? Like if you put your arm straight out to the side and put your flat hand in your armpit only the edges of your hand touch just slightly larger

well it is superstretch, it is the Body Glove Vapor 4/3 (l realize that the lower end body glove suits have a bad rap because of their stitching/qual but that does not apply here) and l can paddle just fine with it (have not used it yet, only gone through the motions trying to determine if it fits)It is not so much the paddling I am worried about tho.It is more the ''is this going to trap a cup of seawater and make me cold or is this normal?'' lol
Seriously tho l work out so l do have lats but for someone to fill this gap out they'd have to be a mutant with upper lats so weird shaped that they can not put their arms down even halfway lol.That is kinda what makes me think it is supposed to fit like that.

Probably depends upon the suit & ur physiology. Probably also depends upon the material. The more super-flexy materials will allow the suit to be more fitted & still allow good range of motion but a less flexible material will need a little play in the fit to allow for full extension.

My full suit is a little loose in the arm pits but my spring suit is more fitted through there. If u r not experiencing any paddling interference from it l would not worry about it.

You r supposed to have a little water in ur wetsuit anyway. Your body will warm it up & it will become a another layer of insulation. If u become hot in ur suit u can cool of by flushing the suit to get cool water in it.

Do not let the extra material in the armpits worry you, it was designed that way so you can have better movement in the arm area where most of the movements are made while surfing. Those are movements are for major balance, so you wo not fall off the surf board. If it was tight as shown in picture one, the suit would be way too tight and the suit might rip.
