I've just moved from the South of England to London. I've been used to going surfing in and around Cornwall but my 4 hour drive to the beach has now become a 6.5 hour drive.

Does anyone know of good beaches that are closer to London that will have surfable waves? l know about all the beaches along the South coast of England, so was thinking more about anything along the Kent coast, East Anglia or within a 2-3 hour drive of London.

Joss Bay in Broadstairs has breaking waves at low and high tide on a good day. For lessons there is the Joss Bay Surf School.

Yes my good man, l do believe the river Thames would be a jolly good place to shoot the curl. It breaks best in the Summer when the sewage is quite heavy. Good day!!!
