l am going to try surfing but my worst fear is sharks l would like to hear other peoples thoughts on them but also about sharks in ocean city NJ

If u r surfing, try not to lay on the board on ur stomach paddling out, or have orlegs on the board not the water becasue there was this story about a surfer ( not to scare u ) & he was paddling out & was bit by a shark in the leg. But as soon as the shark bit him, he let go because man taste more metallic than other animals & scientists came to discover that the only reason he was attacked was that the way he was laying on the board reminded the shark of a seal. Most sharks wo not attack people, but watch out for Great white Sharks mostly. if someone starts to bleed, get out becasue blood attracts sharks. Hope l helped.

If u want to start surfing, u definatly get over ur fear of sharks. l live in florida & l see a shark almost everytime l paddle out. What helps me not to be afraid is just trying not to think about it. also if it makes u feel better u can paddle out with ur feet up so u dont look like a seal. As for the sharks in New Jearsy, there not to many than grow big, but there is the blue shark, that can grow pretty big, but just dont think about it & have fun. Heres a true fact, ur more likly to die from a coconut falling on ur head than a shark bite.

l am a professional surfer mate. & l go everywhere & surf.like literally everywhere. l have never actually encountered a shark myself but l have met Bethany Hamilton, who is among one of my heroes because even though she got bit she still had the nerve to get back out there & surf. Getting bit by a shark is really unlikely & l am sure u will do fine. My whole theory of surfing though is if u do not mess with the ocean (creatures & what not) it wo not mess with you. l say do not worry about it & have fun!

sharks arent really a big deal they will eb out there and you will see them but they wont bother you sharks being attracted to human blood is a myth also if you see a shark get off yor board and go vertical

well l dont live in NJ but l do surf (kinda.) & l dont really ever get afaid about sharks. l know that there could be some there but l guess for me its just one of those oh-no-it-couldnt-happen-to-me things. although my bf says that u r most likely to get bitten by a shark while on a surf board because something about when u paddleing u look like a seal & sharks like seals. l dont really know about that l think he was just trying to creep me. r there even sharks in NJ isnt it like too cold or something.. yeah well idn

as a surfer l cant say im not scared & the thought doesnt cross my mind, it does, and l surf down in ocean city maryland, sure there sharks everywhere, but dont think about it,just have fun with surfing, and the chances of you getting attack & dieing are slim to none,& if you get bit by a shark [ you prob wont tho ] then you wont be as scared of it happening again, but just have fun with it , and remember its there home, not ours
