l do not think that your name really matters when your surfing mate. l got my nickname surfing after l was ''attacked'' by a stingray if thats what you want to call it. Now everyone or my friends at least call me Jack the Ripper since my name is Jack, l am a girl and my name isnt Jackie or anything like that it is just Jack, and that is what l went by. Which ever name you go by is the one l would use and probably in time someone will give you your own nickname.

Why do you need a ''surfer name''? If you surf and you have a name you're already done. Do not be some wannabe poseur and make a cool sounding name for yourself so people will think you surf.

l am a guy and my name happens to be Kim. Guess what? My ''surfer name'' would be Kim since that is what l go by. Nicknames are supposed to be given to you by your friends, not picked by you anyway.
