are not surfers scared of sharks?

no smart surfers cary knifes or shanks!!!

they are surfers, they surf in the oceans or gulf thats where sharks live, so l do not think it makes sense for surfers to be scared of sharks.

sharks arent really that dangerous your more likely to be struck by lightning they dont hunt humans as food people that dont live by the beach are usually alot more scared of sharks than surfers are because they are misinformed

But in most places, no, because there is not a high quantity of sharks so it is safe

shark attacks are rare, there is nothing to be worried about with sharks because they do not go after you, it is very unlikely that you will ever get bit or hurt by a shark

in most places sharks actually outnumber people. But sharks do not enjoy the way way people taste and unless threatened they do all they can to avoid people.
If you have a general knowledge of how to act when a shark is near. theres no need to worry.

Yes, it is scary. Everytime you get in your car though you could be hit by a drunk driver and killed. Anything can happen at anytime while you're doing anything. There is always Shark Sheild, although l am not sure enough tests have been done.

it depends were you surf.you can surf on a lake(windsurfing and kiting)or in the sea(all kinds of surfing)here in Belgium are not sharks so there is nothing to be afraid of :)

most likely you wont be killed by a shark they mostly mistake you for something else. and once they have a taste of you they will let go. to them we taste nasty.

thinking from a sharks perspective a paddling surfer might look like a turtle type thing...it can be a possible reason why sharks attack surfers but thats rare

Shark attacks r actually quite rare, & believe it or not they happen to people swimming & wading in the water more than they happen to surfers.

In places where sharks r a real threat, the beaches r often closed for a day or two after shark sitings. I've talked to people who've surfed with sharks swimming right around them (they found out after the fact) & were never bothered. I've also seen people get directly out of the water when they thought they saw a shark.

Most people r not scared so much as cautious. If u know how to react to sharks, & u keep a healthy respect for them, you're pretty safe. Do not surf where there r whites & you've covered about 98% of the chances that u will get attacked.

Just go and have fun dont worry at all.

surfers, take that chance, after all they are in the sharks home, so they no all the risks but they love it so, and some even carry knifes,

l get scared once in a while when l think l see a shadow. But its a trade off. Best surf is sun rise and dusk. Which is also when most sharks feed.
Just go out with other people so you have someone to talk to instead of just sitting there thinking about it.

It depends where you surf, personally l surf in france and l m not scared at all.
But one day if l m going to australia maybe l will think about it!!!
