What is the difference between a regular surfboard and a funboard? what is epoxy?

surfboards are more professional. funboards are for fun (it is a lot easier than the surfboards)!

A funboard is a type of surfboard which combines elements of both shortboards & longboards. It is generally midsized, usually 7 to 8 feet. The funboard is design allows it to catch waves more easily than a shortboard, yet with a shape that makes it more maneuverable than a longboard; hence it is a popular type of surfboard, especially among beginners, or those transitioning from longboarding to the more difficult shortboarding. This makes it the best combination in most people is view due to the combination of the speed of a longboard & the maneuverability of a shortboard.[1]

Epoxy or polyepoxide is a thermosetting epoxide polymer that cures (polymerizes & crosslinks) when mixed with a catalyzing agent or ''hardener''. Most common epoxy resins r produced from a reaction between epichlorohydrin & bisphenol-A. The first commercial attempts to prepare resins from epichlorohydrin occurred in 1927 in the United States. Credit for the first synthesis of bisphenol-A based epoxy resins is shared by Dr. Pierre Castan of Switzerland & Dr. S.O. Greenlee in the United States in 1936. Dr. Castan is work was licensed by Ciba, Ltd. of Switzerland & Ciba went on to become one of the 3 major epoxy resin producers worldwide. The epoxy business of Ciba was spun-off & later sold in the late 1990s & is now the advanced materials business unit of Huntsman Corporation of the United States. Dr. Greenlee is work was for the firm of Devoe-Reynolds of the United States. Devoe-Reynolds was a player in the early days of the epoxy resin industry, later selling its business to Shell Chemical (now Hexion, formerly Resolution Polymers & others).

Epoxies will not stick to mold-release compounds recommended for use with epoxy, & polyethylene sheeting, like disposable paint tarps & sandwich bags. Epoxy does not stick to the shiny side of packaging tape or paraffin wax. [1]
