So many good big wave riders but who is the best!? You got the likes of Laird Hamilton, Eddy Aikau, Derek Ho, Occy, Sunny Garcia. Makua Rothman, Bruce Irons, Mark Foo, Pancho Sullivan, Ross Clarke-Jones. l could go on and on. Plus you got Mike Stewart who also rides big waves but of course thats bodyboarding. Kainoa Mcgee also a bodyboarder drop knee a 20 foot wave at Maui Jaws on the island of Maui. Choose a big wave surfer or big wave bodyboarder do not matter just you pick who is the best big wave rider. My personal pick is Bruce Irons. l have never seen anybody surf Waimea better than Bruce. So your pick and why you think this person is the best.

Greg Noll. Hellofa guy and a pioneer of big wave riding at waimea among others. legend has it that he paddled into the biggest wave (not including tow) ever out at kaena point.

Ok. the best, there are a few in my book. Tom Caroll, Kong, Ross-Clarke Jones, Rabbit Bartholomew. Mark Richards is right up there too. Martin Potter. There are many. Simon Anderson, one of the best of all time. A big man , a big Heart and loves big waves.
