If you meet someone who treats you like crap find another spot, someone else to surf with, go to another shop. By shop l do not mean a board store (snow, skate, surf) but a shop that specializes only in surf. Hang out and get to know people.
The owner of my store (surfed Huntington his whole life) said he and his crew are never too good to hang out with anybody. Generally the community does not support aggro bs.
