It is such a thrill to be out in the ruff surf. l went out a day before and during Hurricane Katrina and it was amazing. When l first paddled out it was a little scary and l did get my a** tossed around a bit but after l started catching a few the fear vanished. I’m hoping we get a few weak hurricanes this year. So does anyone else enjoy extreme surfing situations like that?
Wow PH, we have a lot in common.
l want somefrom some actual surfers.
Thank you Forty Two.

yes. l also love to climb trees during thunderstorms, and sit under bridges during earthquakes, and my all-time favorite is to run into tornados naked.

Opal was chop fun.
Ivan was nasty.
They r to be respected. That is for certain.
No l do not suggest that any go pell mell surfing or boating or swimming in any actual storm.
They r to be respected & steared clear of , if possible.
l did not make Katrina. l do not look forward to Hurricanes.
But if the storm is going to hit someplace, may as well have fun the week before it does.
Do not do stupid parties or rush to escape it to late.
Storm waves r friggin scary.

I've never surfed a hurricane, but l have surfed a few storms.
Once you get used to the wind its pretty fun. The best storm surf l ever had was at Kealia beach on Kauai. The waves were about 8' to 12'. Hardly anyone else was out there either.

l usually do not go out go out when a hurricane is happening just for the reason that l hate blown out crappy waves its really no fun to just drop in and have a wave close out with no face to work with
