l can not go into Chicago and try by the lake cuz l live in the suburbs, but is there a place around chicago that has simulated waves?

or if ur up for it u can drive to da dells and go to the kalahair (kalahariresort.com) they have simulated waves there

No point trying to surf on a lake- u need to surf in the ocean where there will be decent swells. Lakes generally do not produce enough swell because they r not big enough to catch enough wind to cause a swell but I've heard Chicago can get pretty windy.

Most water parks with wave pools etc. do not produce waves suitable for surfing & r quite dangerous because the ground of the pool is generally very hard & not covered with sand. You can look for places that have simulated waves in like a channel, that would be my tip. Never tried them but it looks like fun. The only problem is u will need to buy/hire a different type of board. Those types of simulated waves require the rider to use a smaller board similar to a wakeboard /snowboard with something to attach ur feet. This prevents the board slipping. My advice would be to save ur money & goto California or Hawaii for a holiday & enjoy decent sized waves.

l live close to St. Louis and l am pretty sure Six Flags has one but l do not know about up there. l usually have to wait until l go to Florida.

Well, there is a lot of different .

One of which is the new Wave Street surfboard. It is the latest in dry surfing technology. You can actually cut up on a downhill! Just like surfing!

Another option for u is to just buy a longboard(skateboard). And customize it. Slam the trucks to as low as possible, & put the softest wheels u can find on them. It will be just like floating on the water.

When the surf is one to none, the concrete wave is just as good, bro. Good luck.
