I am starting a surfing class soon and was wondering if anyone had any tips. I am a swimmer and played waterpolo so I am somewhat comfortable in the water but a little apprehensive about this new endeavor. Any motivation or reassurance might help as well.

Not sure where you are taking your class at but remember safety first - if your instructor is not experienced or certified, try to stay out of the way of other student is and plan on getting a good workout.

never ever give up!!!!! once you get you first wave it is like the best experience ever!! remember when caching a wave it is important to be far enough up on the board. the farther up the faster you paddle.
