any tips on how to stand up on surf board?? iv'e tried l suck and l need more help l dont no anyone who surfs andl dont wanna join a surf school!!

l am going to tell you how to stand up in 2 steps.

1. you are laying on your board you begin the process by doing a push up.

2. then you do like a small and smooth jump bringing one leg to the front, if you are goofy your right leg is on front and if you're regular the left leg. remember do not use the knees to stand up

practice on the sand then go to the water and practice on the white wash.

It has to be done in one movement, if you try to go half way you will never make it. Just push up with both hands and pop up to your feet. After you figure this out then you will want to work on getting your feet into the right spot on your board consistently Try it on land first. If you do not want to do it on the beach do it at home. Just throw some pillows on the floor on put your board on them, just take your fins off first.
