The flowrider is those artificial wave things that they have at some waterparks.

l have only surfed and bodyboarded on the east coast, where the waves are small. If the waves are big it is fun to surf. Bodyboarding is a totally different sensation. The flowrider is really fun, l have not surfed one yet, only bodyboarded because they did not have the boards to do it at the time. But l can not wait to do it the next time l get the chance.

Anything that u can ride waves with is fun. l started surfing when l was four, then switched to bodyboarding when l was nine. l then when back to surfing at sixteen, then right back to bodyboarding the year later. What made me stick with bodyboarding mainly were many things. My homebreak is a mental sandbar left & a sick reef to sand right. It pounds super hard & breaks surfboards regularly. l surfed, bodyboarded, & bodysurfed for 26 years & love all three. People should stop limiting themselves & enjoy the ocean & respect EVERY wave rider. As far as the flowrider, l would LOVE to have one in my backyard. That is probably every wave rider is dream! Your buddies & yourself enjoying uncrowded endlessly barrelling waves! That would be sick.

l prefer surfing way more. However when the only waves available are shore break or big closeouts, l am perfectly happy grabbing a sponge.

the flowrider is great for practicing manuevers, but cannot compare even slightly to being in the ocean. negotiating barrels and lips are so much more critical. surfing is awesome for pure speed and getting covered deep, but i'm partial to bodyboarding. the verticality you can get is so much more intense. gotta admit though when you see guys charging teahupoo, kant help but wanna surf.

Surfing, surfing, surfing. Sport of kings. Anyone who has ever been inside a tube on a surfboard will agree.
