I am a strong swimmer but never surfed. l wanna go to a serious school to learn to surf; I am not interested in the nightlife or visiting the local tourist attractions. Any personal recommendations would be really appreciated. At this point, cost is not an issue. Thanks for any help.

Companies like Billabong offer surf camps all up and down the coast during the summer but are probably not as serious as it sounds like you are. I've pasted links to some camps l had listed for a previous similar answer in the source section.

One of the most serious overnight camps I've seen is Central Florida Surf School. They hold classes at Ft Pierce Inlet. The instructors are certified and the school is accredited by the NSSIA. There are also a couple of serious year around surf schools in Costa Rica that you might be interested in. Instructors are certified former pros. You can find links to the schools on the NSSIA website at nssia.org
